Skaudvilė Regional Museum is newly located in the historic 1900s. in the building of Skaudvilė district. It hosted important and memorable events in the town. Not only the most important issues of Skaudvilė were solved here, but also the first Lithuanian Evenings and various cultural events took place here.
There were also painful experiences when the NKVD headquarters - the prison - was located. Until recently, there was also a police station here. Back in 1977. The Skaudvilė Region Museum was founded by Dainotas Habdagas.
In the museum you will see unique archeological finds, an impressive collection of medicine,the office of the county secretary, various old documents, photographs and publications, findings of the Second World War. Skaudvilė was famous for its huge markets, during the days of which a long convoy of carriages stretched. In the exposition that remembers all this, you will see craftsmen's work tools and articles, weighing devices. The rich ethnographic exposition will tell the story of the life of peasants 100 years and more ago, and will allow you to see such rare exhibits as a wooden horse or a dry.
